Bianca Andreescu talks about her parent’s immigration to Canada and credits them for her success
Bianca Andreescu’s victory in the 2019 US Open came just a few months after the Toronto Raptors entity gave the country pride in another sport. Andreescu, who became the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam, credits her parents for her win. Her parents, Maria and Nicu Andreescu came to Canada from Romania in 1995 with one bag and a frying pan. They moved to Canada as Nicu accepted a job offer soon after he graduated. Nicu Andreescu is an engineer at Matcor Automotive Inc, according to Town and Country. Maria Andreescu is the chief compliance officer at an investment firm in Toronto.
Both of Andreescu’s parents are huge fans of their daughter’s tennis career.
