Texas shooting spree leaves five dead and at least 21 injured

A gunman killed five people during a mass shooting in the west Texas cities of Odessa and Midland that left many more injured, authorities said Saturday. At least three law enforcement officers were among those shot.

Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke said there were at least 21 injured. The suspected gunman, described as a white male in his 30s, was shot and killed at the Cinergy movie theatre in Odessa, Gerke said.

Police said Saturday's incident began after an officer pulled over a vehicle driving on a highway in Midland.
